I chose to study my course at Surrey because of the excellent engineering facilities, great student life, and links to industry for professional training. The best things about my course were how flexible the course was and how good the lecturers were. During my time at Surrey I became more independent and forward-thinking. I also learned how to make the most out of the opportunities I was given.
I’m now a research assistant at Brunel Innovation Centre. My professional training placement had given me the opportunity to get a feel of working in the industry and narrow down my career preferences.
My advice to students hoping to work in my field would be to look out for networking opportunities, talk to your lecturers and find opportunities to get hands-on experience.
