When I was applying for universities I was told ‘you’ll know the right drama school for you when you step into the building’. Guildford School of Acting was the last drama school I saw and the moment I stepped onto campus, everything felt right.
BA Theatre Production wasn’t just a course to me, it was a lifestyle change. My class and I had to put in many hours of hard work to bring a show to life, creating sets and costumes from scratch, programming sound effects and rigging every individual light. It helped me understand what working in theatre would be like.
I would not be where I am today without attending Guildford School of Acting at the University of Surrey. I work in Macau, China on one of the biggest water shows in the world, The House of Dancing Water, as a sound technician. The work is challenging and rewarding, and I’ve learnt so much. I love my job.
