I was first attracted to study my course at Surrey because of the placement year, lovely town and great campus environment. The best thing about my course was the placement year. I also enjoyed the choice of modules, as they helped me discover my personal interests and steer me towards a career specialism. At Surrey I became more confident in all areas of my life.
I’m a Senior Food Technologist and am going to be starting work at Marks & Spencer very soon. This has been a long-term goal and I would not have been able to achieve it without Surrey. My time at Surrey made me realise that I wanted to work in food and not the medical field and the course content allowed me to steer towards a different focus. My advice to future and current students would be to do a placement year, as it will help you decide what you want to do when you graduate.
