The University of Surrey was the only university to offer the exact course I wanted to study. The lecturers were incredible and each one had their own PhD. To have lecturers using their own research as evidence was a great learning experience and one that I really benefitted from as a student. The course size was small which meant we all received the help we needed. I came away from Surrey with friends for life.
At Surrey I became more driven about what I wanted to do with my career. Surrey opened the door for me and challenged me to seek out opportunities I didn’t even know existed. I am now a policy and communications advisor in the antimicrobial resistance team for the veterinary medicines directorate, Defra. I enjoy that I use my degree every day and that I have built on the knowledge that I gained from Surrey.
