I was immediately attracted to the University of Surrey because of the beautiful campus, the prowess of the Department of Nutritional Sciences, and the easy access to London. Learning at Surrey was a refreshing experience. The lecturers were really engaging and genuinely wanted you to learn. You felt like they enjoyed teaching. The course overall was well organised and taught at a good pace.
Surrey made me a better researcher and gave me the confidence to succeed in both the scientific and corporate worlds. I’m now a doctor but nutrition is still a big part of my life. What I find most intriguing about nutrition is how there’s so much more still to learn. Future discoveries will help shape the health of future generations to come, and my own clinic practice.
My advice to future students is to work hard and explore beyond the core course content. No one ever said the knowing more hindered them!
