There were so many great things about my course. I liked how relevant it was to tackling issues of water and sanitation. I also liked the way it was structured. Most of the modules had practical elements, so we were often working in the laboratories. These practical sessions were the best way to fully understand the concepts we were learning about. I also enjoyed the use of case studies in the teaching. This helped me relate what I was learning in lectures theatres to the real world.
My course mates were from at least eight different countries and we studied together as friends and shared a lot about water, sanitation and life in general. We are still friends up to today.
I am now a technical services manager in one of the leading water utility companies in Kenya. The best thing about my job is that I get to witness how peoples’ lives are changed through the provision of safe water and proper sanitation. Water is life!
