Both the open day and my interview confirmed that the University of Surrey was definitely the place I wanted to spend the next three years.
I loved that the course at Surrey was a 50/50 split between practical learning in a hospital and classroom learning. I was placed at East Surrey Hospital and I couldn’t believe how soon it was before I was working alongside my mentor to provide midwifery care in the community.
I made some lifelong friends on my course, who I am still lucky enough to work alongside today. I am still working at the hospital where I trained as a Surrey student. The staff are fantastic and every day I gain new experiences and grow my knowledge of midwifery. Studying at Surrey gave me the skills and confidence that shaped me into the healthcare professional I am today.
