I originally came across the University of Surrey by accident. I was looking for something on the internet and stumbled across the website. After looking at the PhD in Computer Science I decided to apply. When I was accepted, my dream of doing a PhD in another country came true.
The best thing about my course was my colleagues. Studying at Surrey made me more grounded and gave me so many life experiences. I am now a better person for having studied at Surrey.
I am currently working as an associate professor. I enjoy all aspects of academic life, from teaching through to research. My advice to students hoping to do a PhD or pursue academia would be to make sure they enjoy what they do and to focus on their research.
