When I was looking for a university to study medical engineering I was keen to get a lot of general engineering experience before specialising. Surrey’s course was by far the most varied, and the opportunities to explore the subject were second to none.
Everything about my course was great. From the opportunity to perform the dissertation I had wanted to do since my placement, to the variety of medical topics we covered, such as prosthetics, implants and clinical rehabilitation. During my time at Surrey my confidence improved so much and the people I met inspired me to be the best engineer I could be.
I’m currently a mechanical design engineer for a safety control systems company. We provide products to all the big industrial businesses, car manufacturers and process control companies across the world.
