The lecturers on my course were amazing. They went above and beyond the call of duty and put so much effort into their teaching. During my time at Surrey I definitely came out of my shell. I ended up spending so much time with other people who had such an interest in music and learned a lot from them. I made friendships for life at Surrey.
I’m currently working as a freelance composer and part-time youth worker at a local homeless charity. I love working with the next generation and helping them to find their own voice as songwriters. I also write music for video games, which is just the dream!
I didn’t realise how much I had at Surrey until I was no longer a student. If I could go back I would engage more in playing music with others from day one and seek out more collaborations.
